GUMI - Character Concept

My first fully functional, animation-ready character rig. Inspired by titles such as Sony’s Little Big Planet and Tearaway, Gumi was created with the intention of being cartoon-ish, while retaining a snarly, cold personality.

Gumi was the first of many characters that I’ll fully rig for animation, as she was the first step in a bigger project of mine: to one day tell a story through a world that I create from scratch.

POCARI SWEAT - Product Model

A photo of a refreshing drink against the bright blue sky brings memories of summer to many—myself included. This model and render of a POCARI SWEAT bottle is especially impactful to fans of this popular Japanese drink. An ode to times when we were overheating.

While modeling the bottle and creating the hand rig were quite trivial tasks, the process of making the condensation and small droplets on the bottle was a learning experience, as that was when I stepped into the world of geometry nodes for the first time.

Flow - Brand Concept

Ive, by Petla - Product Model

Ive is a beautifully crafted guitar pedal created by Petla’s founder/sole-member, @7se_dasu on Twitter. Petla as a brand is a reminder to me that if I put in the effort, I too, can create something amazing on my own.

Creating the gentle, layered paint strokes was quite a surprising challenge for me: it was my first time using Adobe Substance 3D painter, a program I had somehow not even known about until earlier this year.

Breaktime! - Product Concept

Breaktime! is a concept that’s been lingering in the back of my mind since the release of the Nintendo Switch. With the number of poorly engineered retro handheld emulators, I thought that the problem of commonly mismatched controller layouts could be easily solved by letting the customer pick and choose which buttons are under their fingertips.

This project was far from perfect, as it was one of the first stepping stones in my practice of modeling and designing—but even so, it came out just as I imagined it so many years ago.

During my travels in different countries, I found that inexpensive, natural hair care products were shockingly sparse. The idea of Flow was to give people a better quality, healthier alternative to the popular brands.

Finding the right charm to the logo, as well as the label design, was quite tricky, and I believe I could’ve done better. However, it’s flaws like these that make me want to keep creating as I continue to work toward a point in my skill that I’m satisfied with.

Tsuki-yo - Product Model

Iroshizuku is a series of inks created with the sole purpose of capturing the essence of Japan. Within the collection, “Tsuki-yo” was created with the theme of moonlight, an ink that is well known amongst listeners of the Japanese band, Yorushika.

While I didn’t model the plant, creating everything else in this image was a fun, laid back process.

Neighborhood - App Concept

Ever since Miitomo shutdown in 2018, I always thought that Nintendo needed a proper social app—something light and charming, unlike Discord, which is quickly losing its reputation.

Although UI Design is something I’ve yet to dive deeply into, I had an absolutely wonderful time making this—something I’ve wanted to do for years.
